Bureaucracy. It was, by far, the most destructive force in the Galaxy. Not the slow, relentless flow of paperwork and signatures and the neverending sea of red tape. No, it was higher up the pyramid. It was the entitled taking shortcuts and bypassing protocols. That was what toppled the mighty giants of history. However, it was not Briscoe's place to leave anyone from High Command waiting. As important as what he was doing right here, right now, was, he knew that in the long term he would be more efficient at serving the Empire if he followed the rules and toed the "party line", as it were.

And so, without another word to Zaar, Briscoe rose to his feet in one smooth, smart motion, and left the room, telling the guards to keep him in the room by any means necessary short of execution. He followed the steward back through the station, calming himself carefully, reaffirming his Force Concealment and regaining all of his potency. When he saw that it was none other than Fel, Briscoe paused to give the man a respectful bow.

"Grand Commissioner Fel," He said as he righted himself. "To what do I owe the honor?" </div>

Fel's eyes narrowed as Briscoe stepped forward with a bow. He had read the man's dossier, and for all intents and purposes, he was impressed. Jenkin's held a track record of efficiency that even Fel could appreciate. Now was the time to cooperate.

Fel returned the bow with a salute and scanned administrator. There was something about his body language that caught Fel's attention, as if Briscoe was inconvenienced by receiving the Grand Commissioner. Fel would keep his raising suspicion to himself, though.

Most inspections were put into a schedule of operations and distributed to relevant figures within the bureaucratic machine, however it was Fel's right to maintain the element of surprise. He found the most interesting nuances this way.

"It is my understanding, Administrator Jenkins, that this station has had an unprecedented amount of traffic in the last few months; I am merely here to ensure that identification protocols are being upheld, and that there are no enemies of the Empire hiding about. Has there been any overly suspicious activity as of late?"

Fel's concern was mainly about Force users and their negative impact on Imperial society. A part of him wished that he could round up every Jedi and Sith follower and execute them himself. The rational part of him understood the eclectic value in holding hostages, however the Grand Commissioner was in no hurry to spare lives. </div>

It would be about now that their would be a noise at Briscoe's door. While Zaar chose to play along and submit temporarily to the Imperial soldiers; Kali had managed to use his little uproar as a chance to conceal himself. He didn't do much but poke his head around a few places but he couldn't get into anywhere important so he instead found his way outside the man's office having came their initially with them simply to ascertain it's location. As soon as he was about the drop his various concealments is when Zaar would be revealed as Fel. Kali froze in temporary horror as he couldn't remember whether he allowed the Grand Commissoner to know whether he was force sensitive or not. Though, he became visible his aura still remained hidden beneath the surface which worked out well if he wanted to be under estimated.

The guards at his door absorbed their shock well or maybe it was the helmets their wore; either way they soon pointed their blasters at Kali. To which he simply laughed before raising his hands in defeat before saying "Here's my identification." This was no forgery no matter as he was legitimized in Dubrillion and the Empire now as Lady Hawthorne apprentice. However, he was granted accessed nearly close to hear own as to not limit him from following her will. The reaction on the guards face was priceless as they ran it through the verifier to make sure it was not a fake. They immediately addressed him with the utmost respect before signaling their entrance.

"Ah the Grand Commissioner himself. It's always a pleasure Lord Fel." After saying this his attentions would divert to Briscoe "If your going to be smuggling jedi; your going to need to some better guards. Or are you still claiming innocence." In truth; Kali had nothing but a suspicion that Briscoe was guilty but Kali was an asshole so a little snark never hurt. Upon letting Kali finish speaking the guards instantly began to explain themselves to Briscoe saying "Sir he has proper clearance and we do not rank high enough to refuse him anything. It seems he has the favor of the Duchess of the Dubrillion." Kali took a seat regardless of whether he was welcome or not. Kali may masquerade as a Imperial but his actions and reasonings were all Sith.

Still a part of him deeply respected Lord Fel regardless of his inability of belief in the Sith way. If only he were Sith; he'd be truly unstoppable in Kali's opinion but maybe that was better for Kali in the long run. Turning back to Lord Fel he spoke once more saying "I wish you would have told me you were coming. We both could have flown here first class and enjoyed a part of this trip. You know all work and no play makes for a dull Imperial sir." Kali said figuring he should probably shut up in case the Grand Commissioner was not in the mood for jokes. </div>

"Unprecedented is not an accurate term." Briscoe said, "Average traffic levels have increased eighteen percent higher than the average of the last seven years, but this is not unprecedented. Regardless, the systems are running smoothly. I have had the stations re-aligned to accommodate the fluctuations and thus far my efforts and the efforts of my staff have been adequate. As for the security measures in place against any and all criminals attempting to smuggle themselves through my sector, I can assure you that there has been no lapse in judgement nor breaches in protocol."

He turned his head a little to Mimsy and said "Mimsy, go and retrieve hard copies of the preliminary monthly report."

"Yes sir" the droid said before leaving the room.

"The reports will detail the increased security measures that I have been implementing." Briscoe said, "Soon, every body scanner in Brentaal IV will include Force Detectors so any renegades will be apprehended as soon as they enter." </div>
