[ARC-F]When A Stranger Calls

"Eager to leave are you?" She raised a quizzical eyebrow as she examined him. He was tense, especially the muscles in his neck. He hadn't liked hearing about the senator again. Paya imagined he had something to do with Bohn's initial inprisonment. She could reassure him by informing him that her business with the very generous Carmichael Hectom was over. Yet that would show weakness on her part. She needed to maintain control here, if she was to make him her lieutenant.

"We could leave. However, we don't have your entire toolkit. We can't just leave without securing that which belongs to you." she murmured.

She reached into her satchel, pulling out a folded sheet of flimsy. She rose and brought it to him. On the list were names, the names of every single crew-member from his ship. As well as their Prisoner Identification Numbers. She sighed. "I have good news and bad news. Good news is I know what prison colony your boys are on, and we can bust them out easily. Bad news is there is one member of your crew you will not be able to recover..."

She gave him a single look of sympathy before returning to her datapad. He would have to digest this information before they continued. She wondered how attached he was to his pirate vessel, now that, as per Federation Law, the vessel had been scuttled and processed for scrap-metal and parts. She had, of course, already purchased a new vessel for him, but she wanted him to understand exactly what kind of debt he owed her.

Debt was the first step toward loyalty. She would break out his comrades, provide him with a new ship, all under the condition that he worked for her. Bothawui had been the perfect place to set up shop. The foundation had for the longest time maintained an informal presence. Now, the spyworld had nearly fallen to corruption. Much of the government was now in her pocket. Even the Federation ambassador frequented her more... seedy establishments.

"I'll cut to the chase. I want you to work for me, as the Executive Officer of my corporation. You'd be my lieutenant, the first among a very small circle of allies. You would be tasked with composing battle strategies, eliminating my competition and protecting me." She began, taking another swig from her bottle.

She stared at him. Waiting.

My tool-kit? The pirate watched as the Twi'lek woman rose to her feet, and readily accepted the flimsy she had given him. His eyes scanned over the sheet, names and numbers, Bohn couldn't stop the smile from spreading across his face. "Lexica," the pirate stated firmly, still trying to recover from the loss of his ship. I assumed as much; filthy Federation-hounds, Bohn was born in the Outer Rim world of Terminus, only a recent addition to the ever-growing Federation.

Bohn's smile dropped into a blank-stare as she mentioned the fate of the old crew of the Lexica. "Oh, just a prison colony?" Bohn was certain they would face some kind of adversity while trying to free the crew, he was certainly up for it but hesitant. "How are two people going to snatch-out an entire batch of prisoners without drawing an entire Federation fleet?" Bohn hadn't the slightest clue which planet they had been brought too, but he was certain there were Federation ships to be called-upon in their defense.

She had offered him a job and was rather straight forward about the job description, can't refuse an opportunity like this during these rough-times, thought the pirate. He slowly nodded his head before answering her question, "I'll take the job; if you're fighting Hutts, you'll need all the help you can get," replied the ex-captain eagerly. Bohn lifted his mug and tilted it towards Paya, "I don't believe I've thanked-you, thanks for bailing me out." Bohn finished the mugs contents and leaned his back against the bar-table. "Where do you want to begin, Big B?" asked the pirate, he had a thing with giving people nicknames.

"First we should go to my ship. I'd rather go into details while we're in orbit, if you don't mind."

She rose to her feet and placed a hand on his hip before slipping away. She turned on her heel and strode out of the building and to a waiting hover-limo. She straightened her street coat and slid into the vehicle. She nodded to the driver who had opened the door and he waited for Bohn to slip into the Vehicle. Afterwards the vessel would shoot off to the nearest spaceport. All the while Paya would change, very shamelessly, in the car, and into her proper business-suit.

Upon arrival they would take her personal shuttle up into space, and dock with the re-purposed Interdictor-Class Star Destroyer Peresphone.

From there she would lead him up to the command deck and to her personal office. The room was large, filled with art from many different worlds, as well as bars and graphs showing galacitc stocks and trade values. "What do you think?" she asked as she leaned against her desk.

[ARC-F]When A Stranger Calls

Bohn's eyes motioned down to the hand she placed at his hip, the roaring stop of a hover-limo outside of the building caught the pirate's attention. When Paya exited the cantina the pirates eyes shifted to the bug-like eyes of the Rodian. The creature held-out his hand as if to state: well, follow her, Bohn shook his head at the Rodian's gesture. He pulled the brown jacket he wore tighter around his body, sliding his hands into the pockets he slowly strode out of the cantina. The pirate was greeted to Bothawui's setting sun, his gaze catching the opening door.

The pirate proceeded to climb into the hover-limo along side the mysterious blue Paya, his mind still mauling over the meeting they had in the cantina. The door immediately shut behind the pirate; his eyes scanned the interior of the limo. Impressive for a Twi'lek, thought Bohn as his eyes finally caught Paya. She proceeded to change clothes in front of him, only a slight grin broke his face. He wasn't a shy individual and by the way she abruptly changed in front of him, he assumed, neither was Paya. "I'm sure the cantina would have really enjoyed this show," stated Bohn, his hand gesturing at Twi'lek's lack of discretion.

Bohn watched the surroundings as they flew through the city, buildings as large as they were, were turned into multi-colored blurs as the limo pressed on to the space-port. Bohn could feel the excitement growing inside him as they stepped onto the shuttle which would ferry them up to what-ever Paya had planned for them. Finally, we're off the rock, Bohn surely would have enjoyed his stay on the planet a lot better if didn't spend three-quarters of his time there behind a cell.

It didn't take long for the shuttle to meet-up with the Peresphone, his eyes taking in the wonder of the star destroyer. Those are gravity wells! The pirate almost screamed at the thought but was able to hold back the utter excitement pouring through him. I wonder if SFS made it, or if it was a model under-taken by Kuat ship-yards, Bohn was fascinated by star ships and always had been since his child-hood. He stayed silent for the rest of their trip to the star destroyer.

After their docking, Paya didn't waste any-time in getting to the point; the Twi'lek lead the pirate through her ship and to her personal office. His attention was glued to the galactic stocks, the pirate had only one use for art and that was making credits off of such pieces. When Paya spoke he didn't turn around, his eyes still working over the numbers and graphs, but he did hear her question. "It's a marvelous ship," replied Bohn, he then turned to her and slipped his hands into his jacket pockets. "Where did it come from? SFS or Kuat?" asked the pirate, his mind still wondering about the ships creation.

"Kuat."

Paya didn't move from where she stood, she simply admired his bright eyed bliss while standing near the heart of such a powerful battleship. The Persephone had been abandoned by the Imperial Navy after a major battle in the outer rim. It had nearly been stripped and scuttled by pirates before Paya had stumbled across it. She and her collective had secured it, refitted it and adjusted the transponder. On a world she had legal sway in she had the title legally transferred to her, the Imperial Navy had no call over it now.

"The gravity wells are fully operational." She assured him, sitting down in the comfortable seat behind her.

She purred like a cat, she'd been sitting on wooden stools all day and finally had the pleasure of an ergonomic chair.

"Sit. We've got a lot to talk about handsome."

Bohn couldn't hide his grin when she brought-up the gravity wells, he had admired them as they boarded the ship. "I noticed them as we were coming in; you know, the Empire used to throttle Rebel envoys with these ships." stated Bohn still trying to shake the amazement, turning to get one more glance at the galactic stock trades before taking a seat across from the enterprising Paya. The pirate slithered out of his brown jacket, letting it hang inside out on the back of the chair he sat upon. He crossed his arms over the breast-plate that covered the top portion of the black shirt he wore, "I would imagine we do," replied Bohn, keeping eye contact with Twi'lek woman across the table from him.

"Why don't you start us off then?" Both of his hands jutting forward in a gesture that he was listening to what she had to say.

[ARC-F]When A Stranger Calls

"First off, actually, I'd like to know how much you know about the foundation. What we do, both above and below the table."

Paya crossed her legs and leaned back, resting a finger on her cheek. She was very interested in this particular topic. Not only was it a gauge of his knowledge of current events but also a way for her to eliminate any pointless topics or information the man already knew.

The Kol'kaar foundation functioned openly and across the galaxy as a retail industry that sold just about any product imaginable in its stores, from Droids to Blasters to Food and Clothing. Anything was available at Kolmart. He chuckled a bit to herself about the name. Honestly she had knicked the naming philosophy from a store on Nar Shaddaa.

In worlds it was more directly involved in, the foundation also controlled Crime very directly. Most vice related activity was legalized on Kol'kaar friendly worlds. Drugs were held to a specific standard, they had set dosages and even were tested for purity. Brothels were clean and well protected, the workers were also kept healthy and paid well. Everything she did was to spit in the eye of the Hutts.

Under the table though, there was more. She bought out governments, senators and other groups and maintained political monopolies on worlds. She went out of her way to order the assassination of any crime lord that got in her way.

Paya stared cooly at him.

[ARC-F]When A Stranger Calls

Bohn rubbed his chin as a smile came to his face, he was an observant one and picked up on the small things. He had been analyzing her, grabbing what he could with what little information she chose to share. "Well, the foundation," Bohn's hands clasped together in front of him and stayed at his waist, he crossed a leg over the other finding comfort. "I gather you're not as legally-bound as you would like to appear," Bohn chuckled lightly, staring at the floor and gathering his thoughts for his explanation. "You had me released from prison, on rather high-charges I might add. Piracy and attempted kidnapping; you mention before that you struck a deal with the Corellian." Bohn tapped the arm on his chair lightly before continuing, "that already put's you in bed with a scoundrel."

Bohn paused for a moment to let the Twi'lek maul over his first point, he quickly moved on to his second. "I've been studying those charts," Bohn's thumb propped up and motioned behind him to the galactic stock-trade, a grin starting to spawn on his visage. "Making me assume you're interested in commodities, their values more specifically. This leads me to believe the Foundation has it's hand in retail somewhere." Bohn gestured towards the Twi'lek with an open-palm, "probably illegal goods as well, no? I can't see you employing the help of one such as myself if you didn't require envoy protection strategies." Bohn stroked his chin as he studied the Twi'lek across from him, she wouldn't have required my services if this was some legal enterprise. Let's see what becomes of this, thought Bohn.

"Like I said before, I have no intent to continue business with that man." she waved the point away dismissively, her eyes fixed on Bohn. He was talented to say the least, but he had yet to percieve the full scope of the operation in which she was involved. She rose and tapped a key on her desk, glancing up and watching as many of the art-bearing podiums around the room suddenly sprang to life, retracting the art pieces and projecting from their pedestals portions of a holo-display.

The hologram showed numerous trade routes highligted in both yellow and blue. She gestured to one sector where the most yellow could be found. She approached it and selected it with a casual tap. It blew up and words began to appear. Bothawui, Nal Hutta, Kessel... the list went on. She turned to Bohn. "My business is not retail, Captain, my business is Vice. My method is simple, on worlds that I control I legalize vice, regulate it and tax it appropriately. I take all the bite, all the corruption out of crime." She let the implication hang in the air.

Her Crusade against the Hutts had antagonized them and Galvanized them to new heights. Unfortunately that was not without consequences. The Crime lords had already put a bounty on her head.

Bohn support his jaw with a fist as his elbow propped up on the arm of the chair, he shook his head lightly as she waved the point away. Put to bed for the moment, Bohn followed the Twi'lek with his eyes as she moved across the room; the podiums that held the art pieces had disappeared without him knowing. In their place were star maps which replaced the art pieces that had once hung there, stealing a certain grace from the room. Bohn stood to his feet and joined the Twi'lek by the projection, his gaze taking in the trade-routes before hastily switching to a list of planets.

The ex-pirate listened to her explain what the foundation did to earn its credits, he mauled over what she had said. Seems like a good way to paint a target on your head, he shook his head and it finally sunk in why she had called on someone with his kind of skill-set. "Ah, beautiful," Bohn simply shook his head as his eyes scanned over the list several times, each time stopping to make sure he read the name right. Nal Hutta, he wasn't the biggest fan of the Hutt species, or their businesses for that matter. Damn Coruscant syndicate leadership is riddled with Hutt filth, Bohn reflected on the several times he had to visit Coruscant on business.

Bohn folded his arms over his chest and laughed lightly as his gaze fell to the floor, "ex-Captain," Bohn corrected even though the words felt like venom, "and if you're out to slap 'round the Hutt's then consider me along for the ride." Bohn was all for taking the Hutt's out of the galaxy's crime rings, they had dominated for far too long. "I'm interested in seeing how you work, Paya," Bohn's gaze returned to the list of planets that had sprung up in front of him.
